Senior Grand Master Hee Sang Ro MeditatingIt is time to write about the greatest new leader of our day. A man who has taken the mantle of control from Song Moo Kwan’s founder, Byung Jick Ro, bringing to the forefront, the greatest held secret in all of Taekwondo. It is this: Many of today’s Kwans were left without a master instructor at the end of the Japanese occupation. That leadership destroyed, former students sought assistance in the reestablishment of their Kwan. Supreme Grand Master Byung Jick Ro took these men in, and under his tutelage, those Kwans were rebuilt. This willingness to put aside partisan politics permitted the growth of today’s Taekwondo under many banners.

Yet, this tells of yesterday, and my article started with the promise of writing about the greatest leader of our day. Many know that the Song Moo Kwan did not hold itself out to an accumulation of practitioners just to obtain numbers. Many also know that of the 22,000,000 presumed practitioners of Taekwondo worldwide, only some 10,000 held that title of Song Moo Kwan Back Belt. But many do not know “why”. The “why” is being show by example. That “why” is being shown by the son of that Supreme Grand Master; by Senior Grand Master Hee Sang Ro. His physical prowess is unmatched. His understanding of where we the martial arts should be is unparalleled. In our expansion of Song Moo Kwan, there is a singular purpose in the enlightenment of those who are true practitioners of honor, respect and tradition..

We have seen the expansion of the World Song Moo Kwan Association throughout the United States, then Europe, and a return to Asia. To its foundation in Korea. We have seen countless practitioners that have discovered that Song Moo Kwan Taekwondo, as the foundation of modern-day Taekwondo represents the original prowess and expert technical skill that has been waning since the introduction of “sport Taekwondo”. What’s more, the Song Moo Kwan practitioner has direct lineage as Senior Grand Master Hee Sang Ro is the ONLY son the Kwan founders to follow in his father’s footsteps.

Song Moo Kwa Taekwondo can separate the martial combative application of training from that of it sister ‘sport’. It can return the serious practitioner to the days of mental spiritual ability. It can also properly teach instructors that have lost their instructor to death, retirement, or even changes in the origins of their arts. In doing so, Senior Grand Master Hee Sang Ro truly follows in his father’s footsteps when it comes to taking in those who wish to preserve their martial arts heritage. Just as his father did so many years ago. He awaits your request for assistance. He welcomes your desire to perfect your craft.

Throughout the world people are recognizing the fact that the Song Moo Kwan has maintained a higher level of technical ability and training for its membership. That the standards set-forth are not for everyone. But that have not realized that the leadership of the Song Moo Kwan is expanding to include those from other systems who have decided that the road less traveled can be a much more rewarding path.

What is different? Besides particular attention to detail? Besides a Senior Grand Master who has expanded his knowledge Of Qui-gong power? Or his additional skills-set as a Grand Master of Shaolin Kung Fu, Hoshin-sul, and Kumdo/Gumdo? His father sought to have his son become greater than the substance of his training. Just as we all hope for our own students. Senior Grand Master Ro has surpassed what was expected: by his achievements in Korea, the United States, and now the world over.

The European Song Moo Kwan Association, at the direction of Senior Grand Master Ro, and under the guidance President and Grand Master Guy Jones has published an upcoming 8 Song Moo Kwan events (including affiliated sanctions) through 2019, which has brought a continued excitement to the European martial arts community. We, of the American Song Moo Kwan Association salute your accomplishments.

Senior Grand Master Hee Sang Ro is the catalyst. He is the inspiration of all those who have trained under this premiere legacy known as Song Moo Kwan.

Now you know about this great leader. Its up to you to decide if you wish to become part of a legacy that will lead in the years to come. Find out what you are missing. For as the Motto of Song Moo Kwan states; “If you can do one thing, you can do anything.” Though some may interpret it as; “When the mind and the body are together, nothing is impossible”. This is what Senior Grand Master Hee Sang Ro teaches us all.

The House of Ro has changed the face of Taekwondo. Your inheritance awaits…
